Year 1 - Local Allotment Trip
They did a scavenger hunt, and found vegetables, flowers and other gardening items.
On Tuesday and Wednesday this week, Year 1 went to the allotments to look at the wonderful fruit and vegetables being grown there. They did a scavenger hunt, and found vegetables, flowers and other gardening items. Luckily, the rain kept away for most of the trip and the sun came out. We all had such a fabulous time there! Some children found minibeasts too. Finally, the children drew some pictures of what they had seen.
While there, an allotment secretary told us that they used to have a very long waiting list for people to have a plot – so they stopped this as some people had to wait 50 years before they could use the allotments! This is how popular it is there.
