Year 3 Kick Off the Morning with Goal Scoring Football Fun!
The boys and girls played extremely well showcasing exceptional shooting, dribbling and passing skills.
On Tuesday, 16th July 2024, we took the Year 3 Football Team to Rhodes Avenue Primary School where the children took part in a tournament hosted by Coach Chelsea. It was a great event and a good opportunity for the children; being a part of a team and representing Tetherdown Primary School. In addition, this was a great opportunity for the children to work on team cohesion in which they were able to improve their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
The tournament started off with 4 vs 4’s and then 7 vs 7 games. This allowed all our pupils to participate all morning in the fixtures. Both Tetherdown boys and girls played extremely well in both set-ups, showcasing exceptional shooting, dribbling and passing skills which impressed all the coaches watching from the sidelines.
A big well done to Kirubel and Jamila for receiving the sportsmanship award medals at the end of the tournament – they both consistently contributed to the team and were the driving force that kept them all going, whilst demonstrating their footballing ability with a fantastic performance.
I am extremely proud of each pupil who has represented our school but also in our PE lessons for, their contributions in lessons, their eagerness to learn, and their constant enthusiasm throughout the year – well done Tetherdown!
