Year 4 Learn all about 'Midsommar'
Joyful traditions include maypole dancing, eating strawberry cake and donning flower wreaths.
Anna (Alex’s mum), who is Swedish, came in to tell us all about ‘Midsommar’ which happens around the time of the summer solstice. It is celebrated in Scandinavian countries and observed as a national holiday. We celebrated with a tasty cinnamon bun that Anna kindly had made us, but other joyful traditions include maypole dancing, eating strawberry cake and donning flower wreaths.
