Year 1 had an amazing trip to the local allotment, tying in beautifully with their science lessons on plants and their English texts 'Oliver's Vegetables' and 'Handa's Surprise'. The children were thrilled to meet local gardeners who shared fascinating insights about what they grow in their allotments.
During their visit, the students went on a fun treasure hunt to find various flowers, fruits, and vegetables. This hands-on activity helped them identify and understand more about the plants they've been learning about in class. One of the highlights was exploring the compost bin despite it being a bit stinky!
