A message from our Interim Headteacher - Gabriel!!
As part of the Friends of Tetherdown Auction Summer 2022: Gabriel took part in being the Headteacher for the afternoon. What a pleasure it was! He was very thoughtful and definitely a CEO in the making. Here is his newsletter for you all.

Dear Families
I have had a lovely morning being the headteacher, and I visited lots of classrooms to find out about their learning. I loved going into Y1 Dragonflies because they had so much enthusiasm and really enjoyed the ‘bubbling up’ experience.
I also had a meeting with the office, and had to solve some problems. I told them that they were doing a phenomenal job of checking registers for 410 children every day and buying all the resources for the school, especially the books for our reading challenge.
My day also included writing an email, (whilst eating biscuits and drinking hot chocolate) to Ms Skeete about letting all children on the climbing frame during lunchtime…let see what she says.
I read a story…'Oi Duckbill Platypus' to Reception Ladybird. This story is about rhyming names. All the children laughed at the story.
Whilst walking around the school, I enjoyed the view from the staffroom balcony, had further discussions with support staff Mr Da Silva, Ms Da Silva, Sports coach and the Mandarin teachers.
I ended my time with a meeting with our site manager, Mr Francis and gave him some feedback which included his fantastic organisational skills during all our Friend of Tetherdown events. I did not know that he is a DJ and has his own sound system. I also informed him that the water in the toilets was too hot, and that children were blocking the sink with tissues. So this means there is constant water flowing from our sensor taps. I think we need to have a talk to the children in assembly about this, especially as this is one of our climate change pledges.
