Reception Autumn Workshop - Highgate Woods

Reception had a fantastic time at Highgate Woods, where we were looking at our enquiry question “How do we know it’s Autumn?”

Our outdoor learning teacher Cath Demetriou led a brilliant workshop for the children, where we pretended to be squirrels on the hunt for acorns and made clay sculptures of hedgehogs and squirrels. We also talked about the changes we could observe around us and created  ‘Autumn Tree’ pictures using the natural materials we found in the woods. We finished the day with a quick trip to the playground and a picnic lunch in our classrooms.
