Fruit Picking Weekend at Tetherdown

Fruit Picking success at Tetherdown!

On Saturday 24th September we welcomed over 40 Tetherdown parents and children to help pick some of our fruit from the Crab Apple, Quince and Damson trees in the Lower Playground.  Our families represented many countries including Turkey, Germany, Spain, USA, Israel and the UK.  What a wonderful community event it was, and personally I made some lovely Tetherdown Crab Apple Jelly.

Parents and carers may have seen that we set up a donations item on Parent Pay for the fruit picking, thank you to all our community who have contributed so far. The money raised will be put towards various projects within school.  If you would still like to contribute please do so prior to Friday 7th October when the payment item will be closed.

Missed this year's event – don’t worry fruit picking will return next year, and we look forward to inviting many of you in to also share you garden spoils with us for a larger community event.

Here is a link to some of the recipes that our fruit pickers have shared with one another.
