Year 4 Re-enact the Traditional Seder Meal
We learnt about the significance and symbolism of the different food items that are eaten.
In R.E. we have been learning about the Jewish Passover, which celebrates the freedom of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. Today we recapped the story and re-enacted the traditional Seder meal. We learnt about the significance and symbolism of the different food items that are eaten. For example, the salt water reminds the Jewish people of the tears and the sweat of the years of slavery in Egypt and the horseradish, which reminds the Jewish people of the bitterness of slavery.
