Year 3 had a wonderful time at the British Museum on Monday 26th June to support their history topic, The Ancient Egyptians. We took part in a workshop called ‘Excavation in Egypt’ where we handled artefacts that told us about how the ancient Egyptians lived.
The ancient Egyptians had symbols which they believed brought good luck. We went round the museum and searched for good luck amulets such as the eye of Horus and the Ankh.
We also searched for objects used for each stage of the mummification process such as canopic jars to store the organs and tools to take the brain out!
